Written for this project in response to the historical record below. It is not a historical claim and is never presented as one.
Two letters of the caption remain and they are not enough. The border is a stock ornament used by at least four London houses in the 1860s, so it dates the sheet and identifies nobody. Every classification field on this record is an assertion about an image that cannot be seen, and the archive makes them in the open so that a reader can weigh them. Volume XI exists because the alternative is to quietly drop what does not fit, and an archive that only keeps the legible is a catalogue of its own convenience.

Abrasion of this pattern is consistent with a plate stored loose and slid repeatedly against another surface, which is what happens to a sheet nobody has decided is worth mounting. The damage is a record of how little the object was valued, and that is now the most informative thing about it.
This record has not passed verification. Nobody has yet opened the source page, confirmed that the image, artist, year, collection and institution match it, or confirmed that the digital reproduction, not merely the underlying work, is free of restriction. Its crop has also not been reviewed by a person. It is blocked from mint metadata until that happens. See provenance and rights.
